The headline acts for a three-night run of outdoor gigs in Norfolk have been unveiled, with The Streets, Wet Wet Wet, and The Libertines topping successive nights.

The dates in May 2020 see a return for the Let’s Rock and Sunday Sessions mini-festivals at Norwich’s Earlham Park, with the addition of a new Friday Night Live event to kick off the weekend.

Friday Night Live on May 22 will be headlined by Mike Skinner’s Birmingham alternative hip hop outfit The Streets, with further acts to be announced. It marks a continuing comeback for Skinner, who stepped back from music in 2011 after five albums and hits including Dry Your Eyes and Fit But You Know It, but has played several adhoc gigs since 2017. Tickets cost £49 plus fees.

Let’s Rock Norwich is on May 23 and the family-friendly festival features an impressive line up of nostalgic acts, including Wet Wet Wet, Boomtown Rats, ABC, Howard Jones, Tony Hadley, Kim Wilde, Sister Sledge, Betty Boop, and Hue and Cry. Tickets are £30-£55 plus fees, with discounts for early booking; accompanied children are free.

The weekend closes with Sunday Sessions, featuring The Libertines at the head of the bill plus support to be confirmed. The band was formed by Carl Barat and Peter Doherty in 1997 but split following internal rifts and Doherty’s much-publicised problems with drugs. They reformed in 2014 and released their third album a year later, playing their first headline tour in two years this autumn – as well as releasing their own gin. Tickets go on sale on December 6 with prices to be confirmed.
